these props will be featured in our film during the non animation pieces. The guitar will be placed beside the door when the artist enters the room at the begining of the film , and in replace of the guitar at the end of the film will be a photo frame of a couple hanging on the wall. The animation board will be appeared after the artist enters and walks towarsds it.

Costume

The artsit will be wearing This outfit and this will also also be matching the doll that we are using in the animation to represent her. Is mainly blues because blue can represent a clear mind and forgeting things, as the name of the song is 'I forget that I need you.'She is wearing trainers as she is running most of the time during the animation through different seasons and settings. This corrosponds to the lyric 'Feels like I’m growing up way to fast, Just like I’m moving but I can’t look back'

Practice Animation

This is our practice animation, we wanted to test out how to make an animation and how much time it would take as well.

From this experience i learnt that to make a good animation i will need patients as it will take along time and to also get nice animation shots the animation should be well lit and also correctly lit for shadows. to improve when we start our real one to feature in our music video we know we will have to have even more patients as we will have to try and make the certain elements and the props that we want our character to run past in the music video to sync with these objects.

Florence and the machine - dog days are over

This music video has the outside wilderness feel to it that we want to incorporate in to our music video. This song is of a similar genre also, reinforcing the idea of this concept to fit with our song.

Identity - Michel Maffesoli's Views on Identity

'My name is Michel Maffesoli and I am here to explain my views on tribes, I believe it is the time of the tribes because there is more choice now with the use of modern day technology, this has caused a disintegration of large social groups, because of computers and social networking there are more groups for people to choose to join, because of this it means people can fit easily into more than one tribe. Mass media is not as powerful as it used to be because of proliferation in lifestyle cultures, this is because larger cities have more people to create more tribes. Because of the choice it means that these groups are not permanent and will change and membership of these tribes is not permanent either.'

New Treatment

Treatment
For our music video we want to include animation as well as photographic video clips.
To begin with have the artist introduced putting together the animation we will include and singing the start of the song. She will then be shown as an animated character, and the story will be shown through the summer colours as a background setting that is unrecognisable, in the animation we will then include things like signposts and houses that are known objects, theses will be shown when the lyrics link with them, for example ‘I Don’t Know Which Way Is Home’ that is when the house will appear.
The video that we have seen that gave us some inspiration is not a music video but has the effects that we want to show, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMlKwn0BFJQ

The mise-en-scene for this video will be colourful and quite 2D by only having two layers of images, the background and the character. We want the video to reflect the song lyrics and the artist, the character in the animation will be the artist and the background images will be connected to the lyrics. This means that the background that we chose to use will not have to have any direct link until the words are said, we will show a signpost, a house and some leaves will link with the lyrics in the second from last paragraph.

Our target audience is 14-20 year olds although the song can also be appealing to older years. We think that the theme of our video and that fact it is made from materials and is quite creative, means it is fun and appeals to our target, also the type of song will match with our audience mainly because the age of the artist is 17 so she is right in the middle meaning the song should relate to the audience more easily.

Research in to animation

this video is a perfect representation of what we want our music animation video to look like.

Within this video we would like to use the element of the girl running through different scenery, using obstacles to get around. On this animation the only thing that really moves are the characters legs and the background is being moved away from behind her making it look as if the camera is tracking along side the character. Of course the camera isn't. It is staying still, with the stop motion animation technique. I think that this way of making an animation, is just the right kind of feel I want to bring to our music video.

Analysis of Performance Video.

Pendulum - 'Witchcraft'

How are the visuals linked to the lyrics?

Because this is a performance based music video not much of the lyrics are linked to what you view within the video. One of the few things that do link to the lyrics are the flashing images of pictures of babies and things that happen early in a life link to the lyrics 'a snap shot of from where you were born' the lyric that follows on from this 'I'll lift you up' is sung over an image of a siren floating in water being lifted up by unknown forces. The fast pace and beat of the song is also in sync with the transitions of the shots.

How is the audience represented?

There doesn't seem to be an audience with in the visuals of the video. The band seems to be fighting with the power of their performance against the evil and possession of the young girl. The audience could be represented as a drum and base'd type stereo type.

The Lyrics:

It’s in your eyes, a color fade out
Looks like a new transition
The starting up and shaking your ground
Turning your head to see a new day calling

Does it feel like a head to lean on?
A snapshot from where you were born
I’m looking for your hand in the rough
You’re caught in the wire
Well I’ll lift you out

Leading on the action
Caught in a cell phones rays
Bleeding on a sofa
Staring at the waistline
He’s coming and she knows it
Even though she knows why
Footsteps in the hallway
Girl you haven’t got time

You gotta get out
Go far away
[x2]

Darkness in the bedroom
Maybe she is resting up
Maybe she was out late
Just come back from the club
I can’t hear her breathing
Something doesn’t seem right
Killer in the hallway
We’re living on a set time

We gotta get out
Go far away
[x2]

An Analysis of A Concept Video

Bruno Mars - 'Just The Way You Are'

How are the visuals linked to the lyrics?

The visuals are constantly linked to the lyrics and sounds through out the whole video via an image concept of the tape being moved in to an image of what the lyrics and some of the sounds are suggesting such as a bell and a drum being rung and strummed also an image of the girl that was introduced to the viewer at the beginning of the video appears and smiles at the que of the lyric ‘and when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while’

How is the audience represented?

Being unsuperior to the girl that the song is about represents the audience and that she is so beautiful at everything she does compared to anyone else. The genre and the artist ‘Bruno Mars’ also represent the audience as being fashionable and of the soul genre shows that the audience could be of both genders and a ‘chilled out’ stereo type.

Just The Way You Are Lyrics

Oh, her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair, falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful, and I tell her every day
Yeah, I know, I know, when I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so, sad to think that she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me do I look ok, I say
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are
Her lips, her lips, I could kiss them all day if she let me
Her laugh, her laugh, she hates but I think it's so sexy
She's so beautiful, and I tell her every day
Oh, you know, you know, you know, I'd never ask you to change
If perfect's what you're searching for then just stay the same
So, don't even bother asking if you look ok
You know I'll say
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are
http://www.elyricsworld.com/just_the_way_you_are_lyrics_bruno_mars.html
The way you are, the way you are
Girl you're amazing, just the way you are
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are. Yeah

'I forget that I need you' Song Lyrics

Feels like I’m having no more fun now and then,
Seems like I can’t even remember those days when I did,
Feels like I’m growing up way to fast,
Just like I’m moving but I can’t look back.

And I don’t even know where I am going,
Or what’s worth knowing and I forget that I need you.

I just had an in explainable day,
Thing just bore me, now I’m back and doing it again,
It feels so never ending,
Feeling like a circuit and I can’t pretend.

And I don’t even know where I am going,
Or what’s worth knowing and I forget that I need you.

I don’t know which way to go,
I don’t know which way is home,
And I’m just lost in myself, oh oh oh oh.
I’m so lost in the wind,
I’m travelling, I’m travelling.

And I don’t even know where I am going.
Or what’s worth knowing and I forget that I need you.
And I don’t even know where I am going.
Or what’s worth knowing and I forget that I need you.

The Treatment.

The video will include an autumn setting with lots of leaves on the ground and grey skies, the artist cycling down country lanes surrounded by fields. a light breeze showing moment in the trees an leaves off the ground, the artist in auburn colours to reflect the season. This music video will be unique and a great concept of the lyrics in the song. The artist is introduced cycling across a field pathway in the distance. The video will consist of multiple close-ups and long distance shots involving the protagonist character (the artist) alone and then slowly introducing the male character, following the lyrics ‘I forget that I need you.’ The video will have similar concepts to ‘Mumford and Sons – Winter Winds’. We will use the fields and autumn archways near where we live, and inside Finbarr’s house will be the setting where the performance element of the video will be shot. Our target audience are the age of 11 – 22. we have looked at lots of videos that are aimed around this age category and we have concluded that our idea will fit with that age group.
